Police Scanner – June 1 – June 8
Keizer police recently made three arrests for driving under the influence, including two on one day.
On Sunday, June 1, police stopped a vehicle at about 3:40 a.m. at River and Chemawa Roads after seeing several traffic violations. Guadalupe Cruz Hernandez, 30, of Turner, was arrested for DUI and unlawful possession of cocaine.
On Thursday, June 5, a citizen at 3:35 a.m. alerted police that two men were yelling in a vehicle at Keizer Station and they appeared intoxicated. Officers subsequently stopped the vehicle on Northeast 35th Avenue, north of the shopping complex. Eric A. Atiyeh, 21, of Salem, was arrested for DUI.
Later that day, at 7:10 p.m., police were alerted by a citizen to a potential drunk driver in the area of Keizer Station. Officers later located and stopped the vehicle on Martin Luther King Parkway at Northeast Cherry Avenue. Gary L. Simmons, 55, of Junction City, was arrested for DUI, reckless driving, reckless endangering, and unlawful possession of methamphetamines.
