Celts take down McKay

 The McNary boys and girls swim teams defeated McKay in a dual meet on Monday, June 7. The boys team beat the Royal Scots by a score of 109-22 while the girls won their meet 76-21.

On the girls side, Kianna Staley was victorious in two events as she won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 30.84 seconds and the 100-breaststroke (1:32.05). 

Paris Boyd was McNary’s other multi-event winner, taking home victories in the 100-butterfly (1:07.96) and the 500-freestyle (5:57.37).

Keiran Montague also won an individual race, finishing first in the 100-free (1:12.41).

The McNary girls additionally won the 200 and 400- yard relay medley races.

For the boys team, six different swimmers picked up individual wins — the Celtis also won both medley relay races.

Max Zagaynov won the 200-free (2:24.32) and Caleb Skipper finished first in the 200 individual medley (2:34.07). Ethan Whalen took the top spot in the 100-breast (1:15.85) and Gavin Eisle won the 100-backstroke (1:11.68). 

Zach Kilby was the victor in the 50-free (25.59) while Ben Standley won the 100-free (1:03.36). 

McNary returns to the pool on Monday, June 14 for a 2 p.m. meet at the Kroc Center against West Salem.
