The Capitals have been plagued by a lack of energy throughout the season, and it was a problem again last weekend. It didn't change the outcome in Friday's blowout win, but was probably the difference in Saturday's three-point loss

Capitals comeback, Super Hawks win overshadowed by scary injury

As the Salem Capitals and Seattle Super Hawks walked off the court Sunday night, the energy inside Royal Brougham Pavilion wasn’t what you might expect following a fourth quarter double-digit comeback from Salem and a 107-105 win for the home team.

Nearly an hour prior it was electric as the Capitals mounted a comeback from down 18. But with 21 seconds left and the deficit cut to three, the building deflated.

That’s when Salem’s Isaiah Gentry and Seattle’s Broc Finstuen both went up for a pass near halfcourt. They collided in the air, a foul was called on Finstuen, and when he landed he suffered a serious lower leg injury.

Salem signs former Beavers big Kylor Kelley

The Salem Capitals added a big new piece last week, signing former Oregon State University Beaver Kylor Kelley following Kelley’s season with the Raptors 905 of the NBA G League.  
At 7-feet, the 25-year old Kelley gives the Capitals some much needed size inside.

The difference a day makes

The Salem Capitals had a pair of home games over the weekend with very different results. First, a 26 point win for the Capitals against Wenatchee on Friday, followed by a 45 point loss to Seattle Saturday.

Lawrence honored

Domo Lawrence was honored before the Salem Capitals home opener on March 10. Lawrence was awarded the TBL Spirit of the Game Award for the 2022 season, honoring his work in the community. In celebration of Lawrence's accomplishment, the Capitals presented him with a custom Pokémon card.
