The Celtics took the opening drive and marched down the field Friday night against the Saxons to open the game with a touchdown.
But the McNary offense would struggle, despite scores from Jake Allen, Ryan Lyda and Hunter Ruberto, for most of the night, going down on the road at South Salem 55-19.

No luck for Celtics against No. 1 Irish
The McNary Celtics couldn’t slow down quarterback Brock Thomas and the top-ranked Sheldon Irish on Friday. Thomas and the Irish scored on their first three offensive plays, on the way to a 62-6 victory.
But to the Celtics and head coach Connor Astley’s credit, they didn’t quit, shutting out the Irish in the second half.
