Visitors to Powerland Heritage Park on Saturday, June 13, can learn about honey bees and other helpful bees in a celebration of Brooks Depot Day.
The “Celebrate Bees!” event will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Brooks Depot Museum, Building 6, 3995 Brooklake Road, north of Keizer. Admission and parking are free.
Those attending will receive a booklet, “Explore the Bees of Oregon and how they make our food,” from the Oregon Bee Project and Oregon State University, and honey sticks from local sponsor Nature’s Kick Honey Sticks.
There will be prizes and activities including a scavenger hunt, a honeybee waggle dance and bee-centered crafts such as creating a pop-up bookmark or fabric flower with a bee.
