Keizer Art Association features powder horn artistry at First Tuesday event

“The Art of the Powder Horn” will be demonstrated and discussed Tuesday, June 2, at the Keizer Art Association Studio.

The “First Tuesday” event, from 6 to 8 p.m., will feature Scott Morrison, who will talk about the usage and history of powder horns.

The horns were used extensively during the Revolutionary War and later, eventually replaced by metal and even paper devices.

The public is welcome to attend the First Tuesday events, which each month feature a different artist and include announcements, show and tell, refreshments and door prizes. People are invited to bring their artworks, friends and treats to share to the programs.

The nonprofit association’s studio is in the Keizer Cultural Center, 980 Chemawa Road N.E.
