Military on parade at Powerland’s Steam-Up

One feature of the annual Great Oregon Steam-Up is a weekend for Military Appreciation Days.

Veterans got in free on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 2 and 3. The special weekend has been going on for about 15 years.

The attention-getter recently was the display of vintage military vehicles.

The Jeeps, personnel carriers, tanks and more are held in private collections by members of the Military Vehicle Collectors Club of Oregon.

They bring them to the Steam-Up, where people can look around and into the vehicles and learn their history.

The event at Powerland Heritage Park included a parade of the vehicles.
