Police Scanner – June 29 – July 6

Just after 4 a.m. Saturday, July 5, police stopped an erratic driver on River Road North near Chemawa Road after the motorist made an illegal turn against a red light. Taylor Jetnil, 37, was arrested for DUII and also for an outstanding warrant for trespass.

On Wednesday, July 2, a woman reported a man pounding on the door of her apartment on Northeast Rose Park Lane. The victim “disclosed prior assaults, including punching, headbutting, and strangulation, as well as controlling and manipulative behavior,” according to Lt. Chris Nelson of the Keizer Police Department. Jaycob Brown, 27, was located nearby and arrested for violating a no-contact order and fourth-degree assault.

On Wednesday, June 30, police responded to a Northeast Keizer apartment where a 17-year-old girl reported she was asleep when “an adult neighbor unlawfully entered her apartment through an unlocked sliding door, touched her inappropriately while she slept, and made unwanted advances,” according to Nelson. Police arrested Cristian Rico, 25, for burglary and third-degree sexual abuse.

On Wednesday, July 2, graffiti taggers hit the Chemawa Road overpass over Ulali Drive. Police located three juvenile suspects nearby on Martin Luther King Parkway. Officers “recovered two loaded handguns with altered serial numbers from the two males. Spray paint cans matching the fresh graffiti were also found.” Two 17-year-olds were turned over to Marion County juvenile authorities and a 13-year-old was released to his parents.

Keizer police arrested two 17-year-old boys and a 13-year-old on July 2 in connection with graffiti tagging beneath Northeast Chemawa Road at Keizer Station. Police said they also recovered two handguns. (Keizer Police Department photo)
