A $2 million, three-story complex is being built on River Road, featuring commercial and residential space.

Construction has already begun on the corner of North Churchdale Avenue and North River Road.

Juan Cortes is manning the project. He slates construction to be complete around the end of this year.

“It’s a great location there on River Road,” Cortes said. “There’s eight units… four two-bedrooms and four one-bedrooms.”

The complex will have a total of 6,520 square feet of apartment space.

Cortes has already rented half of the 3,145 square feet of commercial space but didn’t want to release details. The other half remains available for rent.

Cortes contracts individually, as well as under larger companies. He has worked on other housing and commercial projects in the Salem-Keizer area.
