The 52nd Great Oregon Steam up opens its two-weekend run on Saturday, July 30, at Powerland Heritage Park (formerly Antique Powerland) in Brooks.
The annual event features family fun activities including a youth passport hunt with prizes, panning for gold, firefighting challenge course, fire bucket activities, pedal tractor pulling, and a LEGO display..
The main feature is the dozens of steam-powered machinery from a by-gone era such as vintage tractors, trucks, threshing machines and an operating steam-powered sawmill.
There will be a Parade of Power through the park twice a day.
All 14 museums at the park will be open to tour, including Phrase 1 of the Willamette Valley Model Railroad Museum.
A large swap meet and flea market are popular at the Steam-up.
Vendors will offer a variety of food and beverage choices.
Church services will be held Sunday mornings at 8 a.m. in the Music Hall.
Event hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday-Saturday, July 30 and 31 and again Aug. 6 and 7.
Admission is$15 for adults and $10 for students. There is an additional $3 processing fee. Children 12 and under are admitted free. Tickets can be purchase ataftontickets.com/TheGreatOregonSteamUp, or at the gate.
Parking is $5, of which 100% will fund new restrooms at the park.
Powerland Heritage Park is located at 3995 Brooklake Road NE, between River Road N and Interstate 5.
