Chemeketa to host annual college and career fair on Nov. 3

Chemeketa Community College is teaming up with Salem-Keizer Public Schools to host the annual Salem Area College and Career Fair on Nov. 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. The fair will take place at 4000 Lancaster Drive in the Building 7 gymnaisum.

In addition to Chemeketa, 40 other colleges, universities and industries will showcase their offerings to students and their families.

“This event provides an opportunity for Salem area high school students and their families to engage with both colleges and industries in person,” said James McNicholas of Student Recruitment, Enrollment & Graduation Services at Chemeketa Community College. “These first-time connections are mutually critical to building relationships and determining the best fit for students.”

High school seniors at Salem-Keizer high schools will have the opportunity to win one of several education scholarships at the fair as well. The scholarships are possible thanks to a generous donation from Dutch Bros.

This will be the first time the event has taken place in two years after being cancelled last year due to COVID. In 2019, the event attracted over 2,000 visitors.
