KAA announces showcase winners

A close-up look at Don’t Mess with Me Carol Sims, which won Best in Show.

Keizer Art Association announced the winners of its Members Showcase exhibit in August.

Best in Show was awarded to Don’t Mess With Me, acrylic painting by Carol Sims, which depicts two turtles,

First place in 2D honors went to Rainbow Swiss Chard, a colored pencil piece by Karen Saleen. Second place was presented to Star and Stripes, acrylic and pen by Martha Hughes. Third place in 2D winner was Lady Bug and the Bowl, a watercolor by Dianne Hicks.

In the photography category Donna Lee won first place for Oh, the Stories, John DeJarnatt won second place for Tired Dogs.

Janice Christman was awarded first place in digital art for Fear Me, second place went to Downtown Cleveland 70’s Super Graphic, by Gary Olsen-Hasek.

For 3D art, JoAnn Leadingham won first place for We Did It Joe.

Do Not Worry About Your Originality, a Posca paint and pen piece won the Juror’s Merit Award for Jami Faith.
