Starting in the fall, all schools in the Salem-Keizer School District will have new bell schedules. In addition to the new schedule, all students will start an hour late on Wednesdays due to staff meetings.
McNary High School and a few of the other high schools will start at 8:30 a.m. and release at 3:20 p.m., except for Wednesdays which will begin at 9:30 a.m.
“We believe that the new bell schedule will better serve the needs of students across the district and lead to improved outcomes at all levels. We are engaging our parents and families on any unintended barriers around these changes and will work to find solutions,” said SKPS Superintendent Christy Perry.
Families are encouraged to talk to their student’s school about any questions they may have related to the new bell schedule. A list of the all new schedules can be found on Salem-Keizer district website: tinyurl.com/2021bells.
