Keizer Library participating in Book Release Project

Popular books are being “released” into the wild for a stranger to find, courtesy of the Keizer Community Library. If you come across one of these books, you might think it has been lost- but no. It is free! The book you find is part of the Library’s Book Release Project.

While it is closed, the library is releasing books into the community to publicize Curbside Pickup. Until the library opens its doors, it will continue to serve the community through appointments to check out and return books, as well as book donations.

For the Book Release Project, the library connected with BookCrossing.com, a platform launched in 2001 as a fun way to track and share books while connecting people at deeper levels. BookCossing is a social networking site celebrating literature and a platform where books can be tracked and connected as they pass from reader to reader. If you’re fortunate enough to find one of the Keizer Community Library’s books, you may visit BookCrossing.com and add your name to the journal of its travels. Use the unique number written on the library book plate at the front of each book to report it has been found.

When you finish your book, return it to the plastic bag with the inserts and release it somewhere. Then use Curbside Pickup (Mondays 1-4 p.m. and Tuesdays 3-6 p.m.) to check out another great read.
