LETTER: Laura Reid for Council Position 1

To the Editor:

I am endorsing Laura Reid for Keizer city councilor, to continue the work she has started in her first term serving the city of Keizer.

Laura’s desire to research the facts, ask questions, and come to council meetings prepared to discuss the issues/needs/concerns of Keizer residents is what Keizer needs. Laura’s ability to think outside the box, with questions and solutions that are detailed, focused and thoughtful to the issues at hand.

Laura has the skills to continue to listen to the citizens in Keizer and also to our youth. As a teacher at McNary, Laura has asked students to become involved in city government. This has been a goal of council to have more youth involved in our committees.

Laura is the council liaison to the Southeast Keizer Neighborhood Association. She has worked with the SKNA board to increase neighborhood participation. You will also find Laura participating in community events like the annual city hall cleanup event, Claggett Creek Watershed events and others, she is not afraid to get in and work along side community members. Laura lives our motto: Pride, Spirit and Volunteerism.

As the city continues community conversations with equity, racial justice work, Laura will continue to listen and gain understanding from all community members. This is the kind of city councilor I want to represent me.

Plese join me in voting for Councilor Laura Reid for position #1
