After distributing more than 20,000 Chromebooks on April 2 and 3, Salem-Keizer Public Schools (SKPS) will offer an additional opportunity for students in need of devices to rent Chromebooks at no cost from the district for the duration of the emergency school closure.
Devices will be made available at each of the district’s six traditional high schools – McKay, McNary, North Salem, South Salem, Sprague and West Salem – on Friday, April 10 from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Chromebooks must be returned at the conclusion of the emergency closure. Students who have personal devices do not need to have a Chromebook to complete distance learning requirements that begin on April 13.
Devices are available to any SKPS student in kindergarten through 12th grade. Students must either present their student ID or provide their ID number. Students do not need to be present. Families can pre-register for the device here: https://forms.gle/3VLEidC7pxB4JbYs9
The distribution of devices comes in advance of distance learning requirements that begins on April 13.
This is also an opportunity for families to switch out any devices that may not be functioning properly or devices that came with improper chargers.
