Lyndon Zaitz, publisher of the Keizertimes, was installed as the 83rd president of the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association last week at the group’s annual convention.
Zaitz, publisher since 2007, has been a member of the board of directors for the publishers association for four terms over 10 years.
As he took the gavel at his installation at the Salishan Resort near Lincoln City, Zaitz said, “(The association’s) member’s missions remain the same: covering the local news, telling the stories of our communities and being the public’s watchdog on government. As long as we do it correctly we will be rewarded with readership.”
In his remarks, Zaitz acknowledged the industry leaders who preceded him as president and thanked Les Zaitz, his brother and publishing mentor.
