Union and Confederacy battle at Powerland

Union soldiers fend off an advancing Confederate regiment in a battle last year at Powerland Heritage Park. 

A few hundred Civil War reenactors will descend on Powerland Heritage Park July 4-7.

Tickets are $12 and includes admission to the Powerland Heritage museums and vintage trailer exhibit. Children under 12 get in free.

The annual Civil War reenactment will begin each day at 9 a.m. with a battalion dress parade. 

Battles will take place Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and Monday at 3 p.m. The park closes at 4 p.m. each day.  

Medical demonstrations are scheduled after each battle. Parlor talks are planned for 1 p.m. daily, and Abraham Lincoln will be a featured guest at the parlor talk Saturday, July 6.  Fashion shows are held daily at 3 p.m.  

In between all of the events, patrons are invited to walk through the camps and ask questions.Civilian Camps include both Union and Confederate citizens, tradespeople, and life skills. Military Camps include Union and Confederate infantry, artillery, cavalry, and Union engineers.
