Celtics serve dinner at St. Ed’s

The McNary High School Culinary team.

Over the course of three days, more than 150 McNary High culinary students in five of Chef Wendy Bennett’s career and technical education classes prepared and cooked all the ingredients for the monthly Keizer Community Dinner at St. Edward Catholic Church on Wednesday, Oct. 23.

Approximately 120 pounds of meatloaf, 50 pounds of potatoes and nine gallons of gravy were used to feed around 400 guests in a homestyle meal that was created from scratch. Green beans were donated by Sodexo.

Tylar Conklin, Rylee Conklin and Genna Gillen Townsley serve up plates.

The Keizer Community Dinner is open to all people in the community on the fourth Wednesday of every month.
