CCC’s Bolt program returns this summer

Chemeketa Community College is offering free college courses to recent high school graduates and current seniors this summer, from late June through July, with space for a total of 450 students. The popular program, called “Bolt,” is returning this year to help college-bound high-schoolers make a smooth transition to higher education.

Bolt first launched in 2020 to engage high school seniors who had graduated early as a result of the pandemic. This year, the program is back for the summer term and will support 2022 high school graduates and upcoming seniors in Chemeketa’s service district. Homeschooled students that are 2022 graduates or upcoming seniors are also eligible to participate.

The summer class offerings will be presented in five-week intensive courses that will start June 21 and go through July 23. Students will be able to attend in-person at the college’s Salem campus as well as remotely and online. Interested youth and students can visit www.chemeketa.edu/programs-classes/high-school-programs/college-credit.now/ and complete a student participation form.
