Twelve guest speakers headlined the 24th-annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast at City Hall in observance of the National Day of Prayer, May 5. Musical inspiration was provided by local artist Sheba Dawn, and the event was catered by Elegant Catering.
Mayor Cathy Clark opened the service by comparing Keizer’s growth as a community to a well-rooted plant.
“We’re rooted in our community, we’re rooted in our family, and we’re rooted in god’s love to sustain us,” she said.
The annual breakfast featured religious and civic leaders from around the area, including evangelical pastors, a city council member, tribal leaders and a Rabbi.
The event ended with music by Sheba Dawn, who performed an abridged version of a popular Christian song based on the biblical book of Numbers as the benediction.
