McNary music students took part in the Oregon Music Education Association (OMEA) State Solo Contest and State Ensemble Contest at Mountainside High School in Beaverton on Saturday, April 30.
In the solo contest,Hannah Kuper placed second in the clarinet and Victor Ceja tied for second in the flute. Sam Banton and Keegan Arnsmeir came in third in the high saxophone and trumpet respectively. Aiden Wilson and Titus Thomas placed fourth. Wilson plays the euphonium and Thomas the rudimental snare.
Asa Steckman and Tyler Pane placed third in the small percussion ensemble contest.
