One man in critical condition after shooting at Claggett Creek Park

A shooting near Claggett Creek Park in Keizer last night left one man in critical condition and another victim with a bullet wound to the leg. Keizer Police are continuing to investigate the shooting and say that no suspects are in custody at this time. 

According to a Keizer Police Department press release this morning, the victims and suspects were known to each other and police “believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.”

Around 8:40 pm on Thursday, Keizer Police responded to a report of a gunshot wound near Claggett Creek Park and located two gunshot victims. One victim had a bullet wound to the leg and is expected to make a full recovery. The second victim is in critical condition and police say there is no further information about his recovery at this time. 

Multiple witnesses reported on social media and to the Keizertimes of having seen a man with gunshot wounds walking down Chemawa Road late last night. 

There are currently no suspects in custody at this time and police say that the investigation is on-going.
