Doutt awarded Athlete of the Year

Leah Doutt navigates by a West Salem opponent earlier this year.

McNary High School’s Leah Doutt was named the Salem Sports and Breakfast Club’ Senior Athlete of the Year for Girls Basketball.

Doutt averaged 18.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 3.1 steals per game this season in leading the Celts to a 4-0 conference record and a 12-3 overall record.

â€śLeah is a talented athlete and a skilled basketball player. She was instrumental in our team’s success this year. Her ability to shoot the three and finish around the basket make her very difficult to guard. I am proud of how Leah took on more of a leadership role this year and I am also very proud of Leah and her teammates’ defensive intensity this season. We held 13 of our 15 opponents under 30 points, said McNary Head Coach Elizabeth Doran,

Doutt will be attending Utah State in the fall to study accounting.
