McNary receives four all-league nods

Trevor Thompson was a first-team all-league outfielder for McNary (File).

The McNary baseball squad had four players receive all-league recognition for the 2021 season.

Celtic shortstop Gunner Smedema was named to the first-team as an infielder after batting .244 with eight RBIs and 15 runs scored. Smedema also led the team in walks (16) and was second in steals (10).

McNary infielder Eben Mayer was also selected to the first-team after hitting .304 with a team-leading 21 hits and 16 runs scored.

Hayden Kaiser received first-team first baseman honors, leading the team in homers (4) and RBIs (18). He also batted .356, scored 16 runs and had a 1.102 OPS.

Trevor Thompson was the lone first-team outfielder for the Celtics, hitting .357 with a .486 on-base percentage and 12 runs scored.
