Assistance League hosts best-selling author at Spring Forum

The Assistance League of Salem-Keizer, will host its Spring Forum on Thursday, May 2. The event will begin at 7 p.m at the Auditorium Building 6 at Chemeketa Community College.

Attendees will hear feature speaker Sy Montgomery, a New York best-selling author of twenty books for adults and children. Her books include The Good Good Pig and The Soul of an Octopus. Her most recent book, How to Be a Good Creature, explores otherness and sameness of people and animals. 

Proceeds from the event will go toward supporting the Auxiliary, an all-volunteer nonprofit organization that supports children and adults through community-based philanthropic programs. One of their programs, Operation Backpack, currently delivers basic school supply items to 8,500 school children in Salem-Keizer schools. 

Tickets are $25 for general admission and $10 for student tickets. Purchases can be made at assistanceleague.org/salem-keizer/ or at the Daue House 1095 Saginaw Street SE.
