Nominate favorite educators for OnPoint Awards

OnPoint Credit Union is seeking nominations for awards honoring educators throughout the state. 

Excellence in Education ominations can be completed online at www.onpointcu.com/onpoint-prize.

The Educator of the Year grand prize, typically awarded to two teachers each year, will go to three educators in 2021 and will pay each of their rent or mortgage for a full year. In addition to recognizing outstanding educators, the OnPoint Prize will provide five Community Builder Awards for special school projects that need financial support.

The nomination period closes April 13 and nomination categories include:

Educator of the Year – Grades K-5

One teacher representing grades K-5 will have their mortgage or rent paid for one full year and receive a $2,500 donation to their school for resources and supplies.

Educator of the Year – Grades 6-8

 One teacher representing grades 6-8 will have their mortgage or rent paid for one full year and receive a $2,500 donation to their school for resources and supplies.

Educator of the Year – Grades 9-12

One teacher representing grades 9-12 will have their mortgage or rent paid for one full year and receive a $2,500 donation to their school for resources and supplies.

Three Finalists – One each from grades K-5, 6-8 and 9-12

Finalists will each receive a $5,000 cash award plus an additional $1,500 to their schools for resources and supplies.

Community Builder

Four schools will receive $2,000 for a special project of their choice. A fifth school, selected by community votes, will receive $5,000 for a special project of their choice.

The Community Builder Award recognizes projects that inspire creativity, foster community, demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and reach a broad segment of the school community.
