The Assistance League of Salem-Keizer, will host its Spring Forum on Thursday, May 2. The event will begin at 7 p.m at the Auditorium Building Six at Chemeketa Community College.

Participants will hear feature speaker Sy Montgomery, a New York best-selling author of twenty books for adults and children. Her books include The Good Good Pig and The Soul of an Octopus. Her most recent book, How to Be a Good Creature, explores otherness and sameness of people and animals.

Proceeds from the event will go toward supporting the Auxiliary, an all volunteer nonprofit organization that supports children and adults through community-based philanthropic programs. One of their programs, Operation Backpack, currently delivers basic school supply items to 8,500 school children in Salem-Keizer schools.

Tickets are $25 for general admission and $10 for student tickets. Purchases can be made at assistanceleague.org/salem-keizer/ or at the Daue House 1095 Saginaw Street SE.
