COVID cases up 260% in 97303

Officials from the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) identified 248 new cases of COVID-19 in the 97303 zip code between Dec. 2 and Dec. 9.

Each week, the OHA is releasing pandemic-related statistics on the virus’ spread throughout Oregon. On Dec. 2, the OHA reported Keizer had 94 new cases of COVID-19 infection. This week, the count skyrocketed. The change represents a 260% increase in the 97303 zip code.

To fight the rapid spread of COVID-19, the governors of Oregon, Washington and California issued travel advisories urging visitors entering their states or returning home from travel outside these states to self-quarantine. The advisories urge against non-essential out-of-state travel, ask people to self-quarantine for 14 days after arriving from another state or country, and encourage residents to stay local.
