Empty Bowls is a grassroots effort led by Options for Southern Oregon in partnership with the Josephine County Food Bank. The Empty Bowls Event will raise funds to feed the hungry and people experiencing food insecurity in Josephine County.

The event is usually held at the Parkway Christian Center in Grants Pass, but this year they are implementing a virtual event instead. The Empty Bowls Event will be hosting an online silent auction from Friday, Oct. 9 through Thursday, Oct. 15 with an Event broadcast at 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 12.

The auction will feature unique ceramic bowls and art pieces made by local artists.

Participation in the silent auction is free and open to everyone, but participants must register.

The restaurant sponsors for this year’s event include Casa Amiga, The Laughing Clam, Twisted Cork, Wild River Brewing and Pizza, Ma Mosa’s, The Vine, Taprock Northwest Grill, Climate City Brewing Company, Vinfarm and The Train Depot.

Clayfolk potters and other artists have donated their time and talent to make more than 250 handcrafted bowls for the event. Event sponsors are AllCare CCO, Banner Bank and Clayfolk.
