CTE Showcase slated at McNary

McNary High School will be hosting their first ever Career and Technical Education (CTE) Showcase on Tuesday, Feb. 26 starting at 7:30 a.m.

The showcase will be geared towards members of Keizer Rotary as well as the Keizer Chamber of Commerce with the goal of showing some of the high-quality programs McNary offers their students. 

When: Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m.

Where: 595 Chemawa Road N.

“We want to get those people in the building and show off the exciting things going on at McNary High School,” McNary principal Erik Jespersen said. 

Guests will be greeted at the main entrance by student ambassadors at the school. Then, after viewing a video in the College and Career Center, the audience will get the chance to view a number of different McNary programs in 10-minute increments. 

The programs that will be featured in the showcase are: Culinary Fundamentals, Advanced Automotive Chassis Systems, Media Production and Journalism, Geometry and Construction, Digital and Advanced Photography, Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), Introduction to Business and Introduction to Accounting. 

There will be a light breakfast provided by the Culinary Arts class at approximately 9:45 a.m. There will also be a 30-minute period for questions and an update on the bond passing.
