ID theft ‘operation’ found in 13th Avenue home

A Keizer man was arrested by police after being pulled over hauling a trailer and ATV that were allegedly purchased through fraud. 

On Tuesday, May 19, Keizer police officers stopped a vehicle being operated by Matthew Rauch, 35. Rauch was a subject in an ongoing investigation by the Keizer Police Department detectives, according to police officials.  

Detectives later searched a residence in the 4900 block of 13th Avenue Northeast and discovered “an organized identity theft operation.” The investigation is continuing. 

Rauch was taken to the Marion County Jail. He is charged with theft and five counts of identity theft. His bail was set at $42,500, he was later released under high levels of supervision. Rauch’s next court date is July 13. 

Rauch has prior convictions for promoting prostitution, possession of forged instruments, identity theft and attempting to commit a Class B felony.
