Hello Keizer….

The Keizertimes is proud of itself, having won first place in the Elmo Smith Award for General Excellence, at the state newspaper convention this week. It won four other first place awards as well.

Sunday morning’s lightening storm woke up Keizer and causing a smattering of electrical outages, that were quickly fixed.

Summer temperatures will moderate this week, as daytime highs will remain the 80s.

Our biggest community event, KeizerFEST is coming in three weeks. The Keizer Chamber of Commerce has sponsorship opportunities remaining. Contact the Chamber to learn more.

KeizerFEST Sunday, August 11, will feature the Teen Talent Show, sponsored by Valor Mentoring. The show will run from 1 to 3 p.m. Over $2200 in cash prizes will be awarded to teens, 6th to 12th grades, in six categories.Teens can register at welcometotherec.com/keizerfest/.
