A government official with deep ties to Keizer is running for governor.
Danielle Bethell, a Marion County commissioner, has launched her campaign for the Republican nomination. The primary isn’t until May 2026.
“Danielle is ready to bring that same common-sense leadership to the governor’s office. She’ll focus on what matters: safer communities, a stronger economy, and a government that actually works for the people it serves. It means tackling the housing crisis, supporting small businesses, and ensuring our schools prepare the next generation for success,” she says on her campaign website.
Bethell served as executive director of the Keizer Chamber of Commerce from 2016 to 2020.
She lists the headquarters for her campaign as being in Keizer, on Northeast Cherry Avenue.
The state Elections Division shows she filed for governor in February, carrying a balance of $101,344 in her political action committee. She has since spent about $43,000 in her run for governor.
