Mid-Willamette Valley saw record visitor dollars in 2022

The Oregon Tourism Commission (Travel Oregon) confirms that 2022 saw the travel industry’s highest economic impact, reaching new heights in revenues for the state. Independent findings by Dean Runyan Associates indicate that Oregon’s travel-related spending increased by 26.5%, nearly $3 billion last year, to achieve a record $13.9 billion in revenues.

David Box, noted local barber, passes at 52

David Paul Box, a resident of Salem, Oregon died on Thursday, May 4th. He was born on August 6, 1967, in Burbank, California, the son of Paul and Karen Box. The family moved to Salem in 1969. David graduated from South Salem High School in 1985.

Book sale brings in $2,700

The Keizer Community Library’s spring book sale raised $2,700 for library operations. About 3,500 items in total were sold include hardcover and paperback books, puzzles and DVDs.
