City looking to fill vacancies
The City of Keizer is currently looking to fill a one vacancy on the Traffic Safety/Bikeways Pedestrian Committee. Applications received by Wednesday, February 2, 2022 will be interviewed at the Thursday, February 10, 2022 Volunteer Coordinating Committee meeting.

Commissioners choose St. Paul resident Jessica George to fill House District 25 vacancy
Republican Jessica George was chosen Friday, Dec. 10 during a joint session of commissioners from Marion, Yamhill and Washington counties. George will replace Bill Post, who resigned on Nov. 30, and will serve until January 2023.

Council delays decision on Summer Concert Series management
Three months after the city first received proposals for summer concert management, the Keizer City Council elected Monday to restart the entire process. The decision came after the council deemed that the initial process was unfair due to an error made by city staff.

Republicans rush to fill vacant House District 25 seat
The process to replace former Rep. Bill Post, who vacated his seat on Nov. 30, will begin Thursday evening in Keizer. Local Republicans will interview four candidates during a nominating convention Thursday before county commissioners in Marion, Yamhill and Washington counties meet Friday to vote on the next representative.

Keizer man suffers seizure in River Road crash
The 22-year old was transported to the hospital soon after the crash. Although the accident appeared serious, he suffered just a concussion, as well as some minor scrapes and cuts, and was released from the hospital later that day.

The McNary wrestling squad won two of their three duals in their first competition of the season on Friday, Dec. 3, defeating Century 51-27 and beating Cleveland 46-34.
