Art will blossom in Keizer show through May

Art will be blooming in the Keizer Art Association’s coming show, “Celebration of Flowers.”

The show runs Wednesday, April 29, to Wednesday, June 3, at the gallery in the Keizer Cultural Center, 980 Chemawa Road N.E.

The reception for the artists will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 2.

The show and the reception are free and open to the public.

Artists can enter works from 3 to 6 p.m. April 29. Entries should reflect the theme of flowers. The show accepts works in 2D, 3D, photography and digital art and also has a category for youth age 4 to 14.

This is a judged show, and winning entries will be displayed in the Keizer Civic Center after the show ends.

The reception also will showcase the winner of the 2027 Keizer Iris Festival Poster Contest, sponsored by the association and the Keizer Chamber of Commerce. Entries this year will depict a tall bearded iris called “Tillamook Bay,” from Schreiner’s Gardens north of Keizer.

The winning poster artist will receive a $200 prize and the artwork may be used by the Chamber on promotion for the 2027 festivities.

Entry forms and more details on entry requirements for both contests are available at keizerarts.com.
