McNary’s girls flag football team got off to a good start against Century on Friday, April 10, as Celt Natalie Comer intercepted a pass.
The Celts won for the first time this season, 25-19. They are 1-5 on the season.
Alyssa Christensen and Sydney Thompkins each scored touchdowns thrown by Olivia Montemayor.
Coach Matthew Nimmo said that Montemayor picked up a critical fourth-down conversion on the final drive. NyLinn Monk scored the game winning touchdown on a 40-yard run with under a minute left in the game.
The Celts were to play at McKay on Wednesday and then host North Salem on Tuesday, April 21.
