Public Works day at Keizer Rapids Park

The Keizer Public Works Department hosted a free, family-friendly, Public Works Day celebration at Keizer Rapids Park on Tuesday, June 18.

A who’s who of Keizer city residents, leadership and city staff were in attendance to both support Keizer Public Works staff while also learning more about what they do.

The event was held to raise awareness and educate Keizerites about what the Public Works and local businesses do to serve the community.

Local businesses such as Loren’s Sanitation, Valley Recycling and Disposal, Salem Electric and Cherriots were in attendance.

The event was catered by Sancho’s Tacos, who gave out free tacos to event attendees.

A variety of food, activities, information such as fishing, trash pickup were available for kids and Public Works members were present with presentations about parts of the job such as handling excavating equipment or unclogging water lines.
