Schnurbusch and Kaehler set Celtic records

It was a record setting day for Jocelyn Schnurbusch, Brayden Kaehler and McNary cross country on Wednesday at Bush Park in Salem.

McNary went head to head with South Salem, and both Schnurbusch and Kaehler finished first, setting McNary records along the way.

Schnurbusch won the girls varsity 5,000 meters with a time of 19 minutes, 25.64 seconds, more than a minute faster than the second place finish. This is a freshman record, and the second fastest girls time in McNary history.

Kaehler also finished more than a minute ahead of the competition. His time of 16:44.56 is a sophomore record at McNary, and the 15th fastest time for a Celtic.

As a team, the Celtics didn’t fare as well, finishing behind South Salem in all three races.
