Keizertimes earns haul in ad contest

Keizertimes won 17 awards including eight first place honors, in the 2020 Better Ad Ideas contest judged by other state newspaper associations. Sixteen of the awards were won by Keizertimes production manager and graphic designer, Andrew Jackson.

Keizertimes swept first, second and third places in three categories: best institutional ad, best ad series and best special section.

Honors were presented for:

First place:

• Best overall advertising

• Best institutional ad: Emerald Pointe Senior Living Community 

• Best headline advertising (What did the 10 chickens say to the Traeger Grill? That’s hot), for Chuck’s BBQ Store

• Best multi-color ad for McDonalds Restaurant

• Best ad series: Boucher Jewelers

• Best section cover: HW (Health and Wellness) magazine

• Best self-promotion ad: Keizertimes.com 

Second place:

• Best institutional ad: Boucher Jewelers

• Best multi-color ad: Chrystal Clear Aesthetics

• Best series: Hope Orthopedics

• Best special section: 2019 High School Football Preview

• Best multi-sponsor ad: Keizertimes Business and Services Directory

• Best section cover: 2019 High School Football Preview

Third place:

• Best institutional ad: Adam’s Rib Smoke House

• Best series: The Village at Keizer Ridge

• Best special section: Guide to the 2019 KeizerFEST

With the 10 awards it won in the Better Newspaper Contest , the Keizertimes has won a total of 27 awards for its journalism and advertising work in 2019.
