At age 89, Keizer resident Lester Boyd Frels, passed away on June 1, 2019.
Frels was born on April 30, 1930, in Cuba, Ill. He attended school at Moline High School in Moline, Ill., and graduated in 1948. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy for four years as an aerial photographer.
On July 12, 1975 he married Joyce Ann Frel (Perdue), they had three children, Ron, Dan, and Linda, who are all still in the Pacific Northwest.
After marrying his wife he took a job at CenturyLink where he worked for 42 years.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Joyce, son Ron Frels and wife Laurie; son Dan Trachsel and wife Dee; daughter Linda Blackmore and husband Rob; daughter-in-law Barb Frels; and sister Marvella Andress who lives in Rapids City, Ill. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on June 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Salem Alliance Church, 555 Gaines Street N.E. Salem, Ore., 97301.
