Coat of Arms Firearms & Cerakoting will take the place of the recently-closed Keizer Appliance at 4190 River Road N.
The shop currently has a small storefront on Cherry Avenue Northeast.
Owner Christopher Lord applied to the Marion County Building Inspection Department to convert the shop in July. Renovations are expected to total about $3,000.
Several other recent permit applications portend changes up and down River Road and throughout Keizer.
Delaney Madison Grill will not be returning to the space it occupied on Staats Lake. Owner James Marshall closed down the restaurant in the spring and expected to reopen with a new menu, but ended up selling the building to Oregon Ministry Network in June.
“I have been in the business 46 years and I labored greatly over this decision. I have mixed emotions. I live a mile from the restaurant and my twin girls graduated from McNary the same day the restaurant sold,” Marshall said. “We love Keizer and we were proud to be a part of the business community. I am not sure what I will do moving forward. I am completely open to a new opportunity in or out of the restaurant business.”
Oregon Ministry Network is planning a $300,000 renovation to the building according to a permit application submitted in July.
Keizer Permanente was issued a permit in July to build a new 17,000-square-foot shell on property located near its current offices in Keizer Station. It is expected to be a dental office.
The cost of the project was estimated at $2.1 million.
According to a permit issued last month, one of three storefronts in an industrial building at 3585 Cherry Avneue N.E. will become the site of a marijuana growing operation. Owner Gordon Hagglund was iosued a permit to convert the facility, valued at $12,500.
The former Roth’s location will be getting a new roof in the near future.
In public properties, the city of Keizer was issued its permit to construct public restrooms at Keizer Rapids Park. It will be the first facility of its kind in a Keizer park. Cost is estimated at approximately $55,000.
Finally, the Salem-Keizer School District has been issued a permit for $3.7 million in renovations at Gubser Elementary School. The work is the result of a bond measure that gained voter approval in May. Changes include additional classrooms and a dedicated cafeteria.
