Of the Keizertimes

The contentious relationship between two youth sports organizations in Keizer is continuing.

Keizer Little League was recently awarded the city’s contract for management at Keizer Little League Park. KLL used to run the park until a few years ago, when a group of leaders left the group to form Keizer Youth Sports Association, which in turn took over KLL Park.

After four years, both KLL and KYSA officials responded to the city’s Request For Proposals (RFP) to run the park.

“We had the RFP process,” city manager Chris Eppley said. “We had a committee of five people that ranked and rated each proposal in a number of different categories with scores of one to five. KLL came out ahead.”
