Nicole Dowell figures she has the winning baby.
One would expect any parent to say that, but Dowell has extra reason.
The Keizer mom has entered daughters Emily (20 months) and Claire (eight months) into the Gerber Photo Search 2013 contest. The grand prize in the national contest is $50,000 and a chance for the winning child to be in a Gerber advertisement.
Dowell feels Claire is a shoe-in for the contest.
“Everyone says she looks like the Gerber baby,” Dowell said. “She’s adorable. It would be awesome if she won.”
Mind you, that doesn’t mean Dowell is preferring one daughter over the other or rooting for one to get more votes than the other.
“It doesn’t matter to me, because they are in separate categories,” Dowell said. “Both of them are adorable. My younger one has more of the Gerber face and has the blond hair. The other one doesn’t look as much like the Gerber baby to me. It’s also harder because she’s not a baby. But I think they are both pretty adorable.”
