Phyllis Gribskov passed away at home on Thursday, Oct. 10.
Her family was close by for the last few months, recalling memories and sharing the journey.
Phyllis had been for portions of her life a farm girl, college student, wife and mother, clerk, a teacher’s assistant and a friend to many. She was known for her ability to converse with and empathize with folks of many persuasions without needing to agree with or persuade them of a different perspective.
Her adult years were spent in Salem, married to Don Gribskov. Their children are Marsha (David) Bowerly, Kyle (Deb) Gribskov, Lorie (Larry) Long and Ryan Gribskov. Their grandchildren include Todd (Heather) Bowerly, Amy (Matt) Randall, Kelly Long, Kyla (Shawn) Deal and Vaal (Dana) Darnell. They have six great-grandchildren: Tiffany, Ashton, Luke, Azeri, Nick and Taya. She lived a full, long life and we were blessed by her presence in our lives.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church at 1 p.m. Memorial gifts may be given to Hospice or the Union Gospel Mission.
