To the Editor:

I was curious to see how many of the books mentioned in the recent article “Keizer Reads” (Keizertimes, Sept. 6) are available at Keizer Community Library.  Only three were: Still Alice by Lisa Genova, Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand and World War Z by Max Brooks.  It made me wonder if these books are a representative sample of what most people in Keizer are reading.  My conclusion is that, with the exceptions noted, they are not.

The library maintains a section called “New Books” comprised of mostly popular books published within the last 18 to 24 months.  There are currently 105 books in this section. These, I would suggest, truly represent what people are buying, reading and donating to the library. Many of them are reviewed on the library’s website

So check it out.  It is my bet that many or most of the books that you like to read, are listed and available there.
