Down about the price of movies in the theater?

Is free a better cost?

Keizer Rotary Amphitheater (KRA) is hosting “Movie Night in the Park” at Keizer Rapids Park twice this summer. There is no cost to watch the movies, which start at 8:30 p.m.

The Goonies will be shown on Friday, Aug. 23 and Free Willie on Saturday, Sept. 7.

Clint Holland, president of KRA, LLC mentioned the movies during last week’s Keizer City Council meeting. This year’s movies build upon the showing of E.T. last summer.

Originally, three movies were going to be shown this year, starting with Home Alone this Friday, Aug. 16. However, Holland decided there wasn’t enough time to get the word out, hence the Aug. 23 start. He is hoping to have four or five movies next year.

“My question is does the city want to sponsor it with the KRA?” Holland asked Aug. 5.
