Marianne (Whitlock) Voves died on July 22, 20313.  She was born on January 14, 1922 in Silverton, Ore.  She was the daughter of Lester and Jennie Whitlock (Soulier).  She was raised in Silverton, graduating from Silverton High School, and later receiving her teaching degree from Mt. Angel College.  She married John Voves in 1944.

Marianne worked a short time as an elementary teacher and later as a child care provider for infants.  She devoted the rest of her life to being an all-star mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She enjoyed her bridge club, playing with the same ladies for more than 60 years.  She treasured her time camping and traveling in their RV with John after his retirement.  In recent years, she enjoyed traveling with her family to Mexico, Seattle and Arizona.  The last five years she loved playing cards, watching movies, and participating at other activities with her friends at Avamere Court in Keizer.   Family and friends gathering in Labor Day weekends at Netarts, on the Oregon Coast, was an annual event she loved and looked forward to each year.

She is preceded in death by her husband John in 1997.  She is survived by her children, Allen (Sandy), Richard, David (Kathy), William (Deborah), Kathleen, Michael (Cindy), Anne Marie (Tim), Gilbert, and nine grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

At her request, a private family graveside service will be held at the Willamette National Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Willamette Valley Hospice, in care of Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center, who is caring for the family.
