Of the Keizertimes

Looking to sell off items, but don’t want to go through the hassle of advertising your own garage sale?

If you live in Keizer’s Gubser neighborhood, you are in luck.

The Gubser Neighborhood Association is holding a one-day Gubser Neighborhood Yard Sale on Saturday, July 20. The sale will go from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at various houses around the neighborhood.

The GNA organization is taking care of advertising for the event and will print and publicize a map of participating homes for a $5 donation. The donation can be given to Michele Nowlin, who agreed at the June 20 GNA meeting to serve as chairperson of the event.

The donation must be sent prior to July 12 for the map placement.

Nowlin can be reached at

Brad Coy, president of the GNA, suggested at the June 20 meeting modeling the event after the annual garage sale held at McNary Estates.

“Maybe we can focus maps at garage sales that will be by the main entrances into the neighborhood,” Coy suggested.

Alex Olsen suggested the $5 donation to be included on the map, which would be used to cover the costs. Others at the meeting agreed with the idea.

Fliers are being put up in the Gubser neighborhood to advertise the event, which is being held for the first time.
